SeventySix Capital's Fingerprints Are All Over March Madness

Every March, the country's attention turns to college basketball. Sixty-eight teams. Single-elimination. No margin for error. The Men’s and Women’s Tournaments are one of the most widely watched sporting events in the U.S. This year, two SeventySix Capital portfolio companies are playing a central role in how the tournament operates, from the bench to the officials' locker room.

ShotTracker: The Data Infrastructure Behind Elite Programs

ShotTracker, a SeventySix Capital portfolio company, has partnerships with 10 Division I men’s programs and 14 Division I women’s programs competing in this year’s NCAA Championships. That level of tournament representation highlights the platform’s strong product-market fit at the highest levels of college basketball.

The numbers speak for themselves: three of the four Final Four teams across both tournaments were ShotTracker clients. UCLA and South Carolina met in the Women's National Championship game, with the Bruins claiming the title, while Arizona made a deep run on the men's side. Seeing two ShotTracker programs meet on the sport's biggest stage, and a third competing for a title of its own, is a powerful validation of the platform and of the thesis that the teams investing in data infrastructure are the ones competing deepest into March.

IC360: Safeguarding the Integrity of the Tournament

The NCAA selected IC360's ProhiBet platform to monitor more than 200 championship officials for prohibited betting activity, the first time the NCAA has extended this level of oversight to referees at its championship events. IC360, a SeventySix Capital Portfolio Company, earned that mandate on merit. In 2024, the company identified unusual line movement during a Temple–UAB game, which contributed to the launch of a federal investigation that later resulted in charges involving 26 individuals across 17 Division I programs. With an estimated $4.5 billion wagered on the 2026 tournament, the stakes for getting integrity right have never been higher.
