Sports Leadership Show Explores the “$2 Billion to be Paid Directly to College Athletes”
Renowned Sports Business Professor Ken Shropshire Joins Wayne Kimmel as a Special Guest Co-Host
PHILADELPHIA, PA (August 5, 2025) — The SeventySix Capital Sports Leadership Show announces its College Sports Series to delve into the future of college athletics—including direct payment to college athletes, Name, Image & Likeness (“NIL”), the House settlement, President Trump’s Executive Order, and the legal, economic and structural challenges and changes.
For the Sports Leadership Show College Sports Series, Wayne Kimmel, SeventySix Capital’s Managing Partner, is joined by special guest co-host Ken Shropshire, who ran the Wharton Sports Business Program at the University of Pennsylvania for several decades and also led the Global Sports Institute at Arizona State University.
Kimmel and Shropshire lead thought-provoking discussions about the transformation and professionalization of college sports with four leaders in the college sports industry:
Jason Belzer – Sports Agent and Founder of SANIL and AthleticDirectorU
Adam Breneman – Former coach and player; Current Football Media Personality (CBS Sports & Front Office Sports)
Blake Lawrence – Co-Founder & President of Opendorse and Author of NIL 101: The House Settlement
Oliver Luck – Prominent Professional and Collegiate Sports Executive
“We’re bringing together the most informed voices and leaders in collegiate sports to discuss the seismic changes reshaping college athletics,” said Kimmel. “Our goal is to provide clarity and insight for athletes, families, and administrators.”
"By integrating diverse industry perspectives, we can address the complexities of NIL, the evolving regulations, and strategies for athlete empowerment,” stated Shropshire. “This collaborative effort will contribute to establishing a future that upholds the integrity of both athletics and education."
Each expert guest offers diverse and expert perspectives on the evolving landscape of college athletics.
